June Gathering
We had a great time today at our gathering. Thanks to Harvest for hosting. Lots of talk about mentoring and handing off the reigns to future worship leaders on your teams. It seems we all have the same dilemma of needing to identify future people that can be plugged into ministry places to 1. offer support and relief to the current leader 2. be getting raised up for future ministry opportunities such as church plants. We all agreed that the biblical mandate to raise up disciples is hard to maintain when you are sparse on people on your team or that "right person' hasn't presented themself fo you. It would be great to hear how some of you navigate through the discipleship/mentoring process of raising up future leaders. Yes, I know prayer is a big thing too. God is good. All the time!!

It was good to be there and take part in the June WAC Gathering. I hadn't been since last winter, and I enjoyed seeing everyone again. It was also good to meet Maria, Gabe, and Rusty for the first time.
Whether you are on the WAC email list and haven't attended a Gathering for some time, or you are a visitor to the WAC blog but not on the email list, you will enjoy and be blessed by the WAC fellowship. Come out and take part soon!
I guess I'm one of the only WAC members that is primarily a musician and not a designated worship leader. It's always good to hear insight about leading worship, as it helps me to think more broadly about what I'm doing as a musician and a worshipper during a service.
On another note, if anyone needs a fill-in bassist for a service, I'm sometimes available on Sunday mornings. (All Souls meets on Sunday evenings at 6 PM.) Contact me at the email address I have on the WAC email list, and I'll see what I can work out.
See you at the July 19 WAC Gathering at Christ Covenant Church!
I was so glad to be able to host this June gathering! I hope to do it again some time.
The conversations are always helpful! We have such a variety in this group - everything from full band worship to simple worship; from denominations to interdenominational; from one with a music degree (you go, Gabe) to ones without; from singing hymns to contemporary; from paid worship leaders to not paid. LOL
It helps me a lot to hear how each of you handle your teams and it gives me a new perspective and ideas! Hope to meet more of you in the near future.
Thanks, Elaine Slay
